This document profiles the agricultural success story of Mr. Kab Phoan, a 53-year-old Farmer Specialist Trainer (FST) from Battambang province, Cambodia. Operating in a mostly rain-fed region vulnerable to prolonged droughts, Phoan established a one-hectare demonstration farm to showcase the economic efficiency of agroecological (AE) rice farming compared to conventional practices. Supported by Eclosio's PArTNER Project under Uni4Coop, he implemented high-quality seed selection, reduced seed density, cover cropping, and organic fertilizers. These changes improved soil properties, nearly doubled his fragrant Phka Rumduol rice yield from 3,000 kg to 5,300 kg, and significantly increased net income to help regional smallholders manage high indebtedness.
