Regenerative Coconuts Agriculture Project (ReCAP)

The document and video introduce the Regenerative Coconut Agriculture Project (ReCAP) implemented in Thailand from 2020 to 2023, which supports farmers in transitioning from traditional Nam Hom coconut farming to a climate-resilient regenerative organic model. The materials provide in-depth technical guidance based on four core soil health principles, including the use of cover crops to prevent erosion, three composting methods utilizing coconut husk by-products, and integrated pest management (IPM) practices without chemicals. A key feature of the model is diversified intercropping systems (such as banana, pineapple, raspberry, and periwinkle) adapted to the age of coconut plantations, combined with stingless beekeeping and fish farming in orchard canal systems to enhance biodiversity and reduce dependency on a single income source.
