RRDPA
Rural Research and Development Promoting Association (RRDPA) is an independent, non-political Lao Not-for-Profit Association, locally managed and dedicated to community development in Lao PDR. We provide training, conduct action research, and offer resources to support rural development.
RRDPA began its work in April 2004 under the umbrella of the Lao Union of Science and Engineering Associations (LUSEA) as the Rural Research & Development Training Center (RRDTC). In 2009, a new decree regulating Lao Non-Profit Associations was introduced, authorizing the Public Administration and Civil Service Authority (PACSA)—in coordination with relevant ministries—to oversee the registration and monitoring of non-profit organizations in the country.
Responsibility for non-profit associations later transitioned to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). On September 6, 2012, RRDPA was officially licensed by MOHA, and on August 15, 2018, the ministry granted RRDPA an operational permit.
