IAE

The Institute for Agricultural Environment (IAE) is a member institution of the Vietnamese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), established on April 10, 2008, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. IAE is dedicated to scientific research, technology transfer, domestic and international collaboration, and consultancy services in Vietnam’s agricultural and rural environments.

Structure and Leadership
IAE operates through three functional departments, five research divisions, two centers, and two monitoring stations, covering areas such as environmental safety, chemistry, modeling, biodiversity, and rural development. The institute is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Văn Trịnh (Director), supported by two Deputy Directors, Dr. Trần Văn Thể and Dr. Trần Quốc Vương.

Scientific and Technological Activities
Since its inception, IAE has undertaken over 20 national-level projects, 46 ministerial-level tasks, and 19 international cooperation projects, alongside various local collaborations and service contracts. The institute focuses on environmental monitoring, pollution treatment technologies, biotechnological solutions for waste management, and climate change adaptation in agriculture.

Laboratory and Research Services
IAE’s Central Laboratory, accredited under ViLas621 and ISO 17025:2005, provides analysis services for nearly 400 environmental and agricultural quality indicators, including water, air, soil, fertilizers, hazardous waste, food products, and microbiological parameters.

Achievements and Recognition
IAE has received multiple awards, including the Third-Class Labor Medal (2013), the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit (2011), and the Emulation Flag from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (2012), recognizing its contributions to scientific research and technology transfer.
