This document, presented by GRET in March 2017, describes agroecological practices implemented in Myanmar’s Ayeyarwaddy Delta to support small farmers and landless producers. It highlights challenges such as poor soil fertility, climate change, and limited market access, and introduces agroecological techniques like composting, green manure, biopesticides, and the System of Rice Intensification. Field trials show improved yields and reduced reliance on chemical inputs. Despite labor and knowledge barriers, the project promotes innovation, farmer training, and local networks to support sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty in the region.
