DEMB
The Department of Experimental Methods and Biostatistics (DEMB), Faculty of Agronomy, Vietnam National University of Agriculture is the predecessor of the Mulberry department (1967 – 2007) and Agricultural Systems (2007-2012). In 2012, the department changed its name to the Department of Experimental Methods and Biostatistics. Currently, the department has 5 doctors and 1 engineer.
The main mission of the department is training for undergraduate and graduate degrees in the fields of the Faculty of Agronomy. From 2019 to now, the department is in charge of the high-tech agriculture programme. Besides, the department also performs the task of researching and transferring advanced technologies for the development of the faculty Vietnam National University of Agriculture and Vietnam’s agriculture. The research strategies of the Department of Experimental Methods and Biostatistics will focus on the selection of plant varieties for organic agriculture; managing soil nutrients in organic agriculture; integrated crop management in organic agriculture; pest and weed management in organic agriculture; sustainable agricultural development adapting to climate change; techniques to improve yield and quality of mulberry; and research on plant physiology and ecology adapting to climate change.
