Stories of change across Africa, Asia and Latin America from the DeSIRA initiative aims to provide funders, decision-makers, research managers, implementing organisations and project formulators with insights into tangible changes that have occurred as a result of researchers and its partners.
The first book highlights how research is reshaping the way we think about innovation and innovation systems, offering a portfolio of critical innovations for transitioning pathways. Focusing on systemic approaches and transition management, it illustrates the need for more inclusive, responsive, and user-centred innovation methodologies if we want to address problems at the heart of sustainability transitions.
The second Stories of Change book explores how DeSIRA projects contribute to agrifood system (AFS) transformation by fostering innovation, filling critical gaps, and building conditions for long-term impact. It examines:
- The transformative potential of changes initiated by DeSIRA projects within agricultural innovation systems.
- How innovations were selected, owned, and scaled to address sustainability challenges.
- Key enablers, including research-stakeholder collaboration, transdisciplinary approaches, adaptive management, market viability, and policy engagement.
