PHANO
The Vietnam Rural Development Science Association (PHANO) is a national-level professional organization dedicated to fostering rural development across Vietnam. PHANO brings together scientists and individuals committed to supporting smallholder farmers and rural communities in enhancing their capacity to implement sustainable rural development programs.
PHANO publishes the Vietnam Journal of Science for Rural Development, which focuses on reviewing key issues related to agricultural and rural policy.
To support local farmers, PHANO provides consultation services to develop programs that promote rural development, climate change adaptation, inclusive agri-business, institutional development, and capacity building for agroecology. These initiatives aim to improve farmers’ skills and resilience in a rapidly changing environment.
PHANO also facilitates policy consultations with scientists to provide expert recommendations for state management bodies in agriculture, ensuring policies are well-formulated before submission to ministry leaders and the government.
Additionally, PHANO promotes collaboration and supports the establishment of Sub-Associations in various provinces and cities. These networks help mobilize expertise nationwide, contributing meaningfully to rural development and community-building efforts across Vietnam.
