The workshop “Connecting forestry and agroforestry cooperatives with enterprises to promote commodity value chains” was co-organized by Vietnam National University of Forestry and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on May 8 in Hanoi, in both in-person and online formats. The event aimed to assess the current situation and clarify the central role of forestry and agroforestry cooperatives in building sustainable linkages with enterprises to develop value chains. In addition to discussions on removing practical barriers, the workshop sought to propose coordinated solutions to strengthen production and business capacity in association with climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and the promotion of new initiatives such as green finance and carbon markets.
