Climate Change On Rice Production And Adaptation, A Case Study Of Salinity Intrusion In Coastal Areas Of The Mekong Delta Region, Vietnam

This study examines how salinity intrusion, driven by climate change, affects rice production in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. Based on data from 214 farmers, it finds that rice yields may drop dangerously, leading to significant profit losses. The study shows that salinity increases farming costs and reduces productivity. It concludes that adaptation measures like intercropping, salinity monitoring, and water management are needed to sustain rice farming in the region.
